Brightfolk Studio

Privacy policy.

We keep this simple: we collect the least we need to reply to you and do the work, we don’t sell it, and we don’t run advertising trackers. Here’s the detail.

Who we are

Brightfolk Studio Pty Ltd (ABN 18 674 482 467) is a branding and web design studio based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Brightfolk Studio. You can reach us any time at hello@brightfolk.studio.

What we collect

We only collect personal information you give us:

  • When you use the enquiry form: your name, email address, a link to your work or website if you share one, what you’re looking for, your rough timeline, how you heard about us, and whatever you write in the message.
  • When you book a call: your name, email address and timezone, collected through our scheduling tool (TidyCal) so we can send the calendar invite.
  • When you email us directly: your email address and anything in your message.

Our web host records standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use these to build a profile of you.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and talk to you about a possible project.
  • Schedule and run calls you book with us.
  • Carry out the work if you become a client, and stay in touch about it.

We don’t send marketing emails off the back of an enquiry unless you’ve asked us to, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We keep the studio small and the list of tools short. Your information passes through a few trusted providers only so we can operate:

  • Resend — delivers your enquiry from the website to our inbox.
  • TidyCal — handles call bookings and calendar invites.
  • Google Workspace — our email inbox, where your enquiry lands.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the website and serves the enquiry form.

Each only receives what it needs to do its job. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies, and it doesn’t track you around the web. Our host may set essential cookies needed for security and to serve the site; nothing that profiles you.

Where your information is stored

Some of the providers above (including Resend, TidyCal, Google and Cloudflare) store data on servers outside Australia, such as in the United States. By using the form or booking a call, you consent to your information being handled overseas by these providers, who are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we’re in contact and for a reasonable period after, in case you come back to us. Client records are kept for as long as we need them for the project and to meet our tax and legal obligations. Ask us to delete your details and we will, unless we’re required to keep them.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we use reputable providers who do the same. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it’s wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@brightfolk.studio and we’ll sort it out. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. For anything significant, we’ll make the change clear.
